Flyfishing school by the Sepp Prager rules (Gebetsroith style)
A short description of Sepp Prager
The Gebetsroither method of flyfishing is one of the best styles of all. The style is elegant and aesthetic. If you’ve seen an expert demonstrate his or her skill with the rod—showing such ease and lightness—then you’ve learned the movements “through under” and “ up over” and are already well on the way to becoming a excellent flyfisher.
Hans Gebetsroither formed first of all for the short “Gespliessten”. The action comes only from the shoulder—hand and elbow stay inflexible. The fly is always at the highest point. This is very important if you have higher grass or small obstacles.
This Gebetsroither style is also very easily practised with modern carbon rods. As a famous flyfishing teacher says: If you go flyfishing just use the Gebetsroither style for your best casts.
